“When the storms of life come, the wicked are whirled away, but the godly have a lasting foundation.”
Proverbs 10:25 NLT
“Friends, when life gets really difficult, don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.”
1 Peter 4:12-13 MSG
DO NOT SAY:
“Oh, I wish I had wings like a dove. I would fly away and find a place to rest. I would go far into the desert and stay there. Selah
I would run away. I would escape from this storm of trouble.”
Psalms 55:6-8 ERV
Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever.
1 Peter 5:8-9 MSG
When testing and trials come our way, we should receive them with joy, because we know that it is God who allows them to strengthen our faith.
When we are knocked about in the storms of life, like the tree that digs its roots ever deeper for a greater grip, we must dig our roots deeper into God’s Word so we can withstand whatever comes against us.
Most comforting of all, we know that God will never allow us to be tested beyond what we are able to handle and in all things will provide a way out of the test
(See 1 Corinthians 10:13)
This does not mean He will remove the trial from us. Why would He when He says trials are for our benefit?
Rather, the “way out” is the way through the trial, with Him ever faithful by our side, until we come out on the other side of it by His grace and power, stronger and more vibrant.
*My prayer *
May we take refuge and be confident “in the shadow of Your wings, until calamities and destructive storms are passed.” In Jesus’s mighty name amen.
