Anger and Bitterness are like cancer in our gut, destroying our lives from within.
The problem is that we harbor them in our hearts and we nurture them until they are deep rooted in us.
“The heart knows its own bitterness, And a stranger does not share its joy.”
Proverbs 14:10 NKJV
“The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful, a puzzle that no one can figure out. But I, GOD, search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.””
Jeremiah 17:9-10 MSG
“BE ANGRY [at sin—at immorality, at injustice, at ungodly behavior], YET DO NOT SIN; do not let your anger [cause you shame, nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. And do not give the devil an opportunity [to lead you into sin by holding a grudge, or nurturing anger, or harboring resentment, or cultivating bitterness].”
Ephesians 4:26-27 AMP
“Watch over each other to make sure that no one misses the revelation of God’s grace. And make sure no one lives with a root of bitterness sprouting within them which will only cause trouble and poison the hearts of many.”
Hebrews 12:15 TPT
What kind of vessels are we?
“some containers used to serve fine meals, others to take out the garbage.”
